“Watermelons & Peace Lilies”

Created as a visual act of solidarity with the P@lestinian people, drawing on the language of still life to speak about resistance and loss. Watermelons, peace lilies, soil, and a soldier’s helmet brought together as symbols of a people’s endurance and the violence committed against them.

The work was created in July 2025, when Israel had already starved dozens of children to death using food as a weapon, and thousands of trucks full of aid sat outside Gaza waiting to be let in. Since then, the violence has spread. The West Bank. Sudan. Iran. Lebanon. A region set on fire by imperial interests and colonial power structures that the world has allowed to persist for decades. This project is a visual act of solidarity. An honor to the unwavering resistance of the P@lestinian people.

Through this project, we raise our voices against the ongoing genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza. Against the silence and complicity of Western governments and leaders, including the European Union, which continues to support the genocide, while violently attempting to suppress those who speak out against these violations of international law and basic humanity.

A photo exhibition was presented in a sold-out fundraising event for A Taste of Solidarity, curated by Berlin Gastro Solidarity Network at Markthalle Neun, Berlin.
